I've said before that the sparrows in my garden are shameless mimics. What one does, the others do, too. And whenever the poor blackbirds try to feed among the leaf litter, they're soon having to fight off a horde of little tag-alongs.
I guess it's a great survival strategy - the easiest way to find food is to let someone else source it. Ask any teenager... :-)
But it came as a surprise to find this little fellow apparently quite determined to get some greenery in his diet - biting off and eating chunks of this leaf, before eventually managing to uproot the thing altogether.
