I managed to escape to the Arboretum for a couple of hours (and incidentally avoided some heavy rain showers at home).

This little lady was on a nearby meadow, going round and round and round on the same flower. I've seen them like this - not entirely "with it" - before, either when it's chilly, or when the little things are past their best before date. Judging by her faded colours and battered wings, I'd say it's the latter.

But still, nice meadow, thistle nectar on tap... not a bad retirement plan, really.
