The Gathering Storm

Posted by

This lady lives at the nearby airfield. During the airshow season and on other odd occasions, she comes out to play. This time, it was half Cuban-eights, loops, and victory rolls. It was a fantastic sky for it - split clouds and crepuscular rays - but the clouds were too big and the Spitfire too small. In the end, I did get this passing shot.

Tech stuff: 135mm lens with 2x teleconverter (540mm full-frame equivalent), +1EV compensation; a little local contrast adjustment to lighten the aircraft and pick out some texture in the cloud.

Thanks for stopping to take a look.

I've been at an airshow today too, but will have to wait a few days to see what I bagged (too much work.)
