To the heart of the matter

A bit of a relief. Until yesterday, I'd seen a fair few bumblebees - of assorted species - but hadn't seen any honeybees in my garden. But there they are, and very definitely are getting to grips with things, in this case, the flowers on a perovskia (aka, russian sage).

Tech stuff: More experiments-stroke-practice with the antediluvian flash. 100mm manual lens with 48mm extension, f/11. No processing beyond default raw development.

Thanks for stopping to take a look.
