Spring Tide

Posted by

Give or take a few minutes, this is the peak of the spring tide last weekend - 14.2 metres, according to the tables. I took it from the other end of the sea wall to my usual spot; note the difference in height from a fortnight earlier.

The tide brings lots of anglers out, hoping to catch some cod (yes, really!) for dinner. Some come quite a way: the guy you see on the wall was one of a group of brothers who'd made the trip from Dover that morning to try their luck. As it turned out, all they managed to catch was an idiot dog that hooked itself when trying to snarf their bait.

Thanks for stopping to take a look.

@digitalCG: Ah... that would explain the wriggling dufflebag... ;-)
