Cautious approach

Things that look like things they're not...

This isn't a wasp; it's a male hoverfly (mamalade hoverfly, I think, Episyrphus balteatus). And the floral helipad it's examining isn't a dandelion, but one of its cousins, a sow thistle (sonchus oleraceus).
