Black and white bee?

Posted by
Spike (not Bristol, United Kingdom) on 16 April 2012 in Animal & Insect and Portfolio.

I went looking for bluebells; I found a couple of black and white bees. I've never seen these before - fairly small, about 1 cm in length, and grey-white and black with just the faintest tinge of buff. They were on a dirt path, apparently trying to bask in the intermittent sunshine.

Another view tomorrow...

Thanks for stopping to take a look.

He is a good looking bee. The sun highlighting the white hairs gives it a nice effect.... lovely contrast in color. Beautiful!
