The Sap is Running

Posted by
Spike (not Bristol, United Kingdom) on 2 April 2013 in Plant & Nature.

First time out in almost three weeks, thanks to a combination of lousy weather and the Head Cold That Would Not Die.

Not that I've missed much. Here it is, April, and it could still be mistaken for February. Just a couple of vague signs of spring, like the sap running from these lopped-off branches of a Cappadocian Maple.

I thought about tasting it, to see if it was anything like Sugar Maple, but the thought of being laid out again didn't appeal...

Thanks for stopping to take a look.
